The Introduction to Adobe Trusted PDF Signing Certificate

Adobe officially released PDF format files in 1992 to vigorously promote the electronization of documents. In 1999, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader began to support digital signature technologies, intended to promote the credibility of electronic documents. Adobe launched the Certified Document Services (CDS) in 2005. At that time, there were three certified CAs (VeriSign, Entrust, and GlobalSign), and the cross-root certificate were issued to them by the Adobe root certificate that had been preset in the Adobe software. The cross-root certificate realizes the trust of the document signing certificate. This program was replaced by the current Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) in 2009. Directly trust the root certificates of each certified CA. Currently, there are 72 CAs in the world have become the members of the Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) including WoTrus CA.

The Adobe trusted PDF signing certificates that used in MeSign E-sign Service are issued by the Root CA - MeSince Identity CA, this Root CA is hosted and managed by WoTrus CA Limited. WoTrus CA is the first company in China that certified by Adobe in 2013. At present, there are 3 root certificates have been included in the Adobe Approved Trust List including one MeSince name root.
